Born in Bulgaria and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, Piskova has wanted to help those in need since her childhood. She decided to study ophthalmology and help people keep their vision after her grandmother, whose vision was destroyed from glaucoma, would use her hands to feel Rayna’s face to see how the young child was growing.

Having an American husband, Piskova arrived in The United States and settled in Madera. She loves the area and what it has to offer, citing big-city amenities with a small-town environment.

She actively helps causes on the local, national and international levels. Her participation in Eye Care America enables seniors to receive ophthalmological services without any additional costs.

The cause nearest to her heart involves orphans in her native country of Bulgaria. Piskova says about 10 percent of Bulgarian children live in orphanages and she wants to help hundreds, if not thousands, of these children to have a normal childhood.
